2012 NYC Half

While many New Yorkers spent St. Patrick’s Day reveling in Saturday’s gorgeous spring weather, about 15,000 refrained from celebrating too much, in anticipation of waking at the crack of dawn Sunday to head to Central Park for the 2012 NYC Half Marathon. In fact, seven of them ran to support Malaria No More! It was Team Malaria No More’s first year in the NYC Half, and even though we didn’t get our charity race entries until just two months ago, our runners pulled together, put foot to pavement, and raised nearly $10,000 to support our work in Africa. I’m guessing the feeling they had after racing around the Park, through Times Square, and down the Westside Highway to the South Street Seaport was far better than any St. Patty’s Day party. Thanks so much to everyone on Team MNM!
