In "24: Redemption" Jack Bauer must risk his life and freedom to protect the lives of African children. In our own lives, there is a way for all of us to help save, not just a few, but millions of African children—by protecting them from malaria. A child dies every 45 seconds from malaria, a disease that we know how to prevent.
A simple $10 mosquito net can protect children from the mosquitoes that bite at night and spread malaria.
Join Kiefer Sutherland and Fox in supporting Malaria No More with a gift of mosquito nets.
About Malaria
- Malaria kills 1 million people each year
- 3,000 children die from malaria every day
Why Mosquito Nets?
Mosquito nets work by creating a protective barrier against mosquitoes at night, when the vast majority of transmissions occur. The African malaria mosquitoes generally bite late at night or early morning, between 10pm and 4am. Most mosquito nets can accommodate more than one person – a mother and an infant or a few siblings – for up to three to five years. A net treated with special insecticides offers about twice the protection of an untreated net, and through its repellency, can even protect other people in the room outside the net. When enough people (about 70 percent) sleep under mosquito nets, entire communities, even houses without an net, can be made safer.
Every mosquito net gift makes a difference because every life counts. Make a gift today!
