The official motto of soccer superstars FC Barcelona translates to "More Than a Club". This motto is exemplified in Barça's generous support of Malaria No More's efforts to end malaria deaths. Here are some highlights from our partnership so far:

Barca Distributes Nets in Mali

Thanks to funds raised through the “More Than A Club: Kick it to Malaria” partnership, MNM and FC Barcelona—including FCB President Joan LaPorta and Malian player Seydou Keita—were able to distribute 1,000 mosquito nets kids in Bamako, Mali in March 2009. Barca was in Mali to launch their newest XICS Center (International Network of Solidarity Centers).

Kicking it to Malaria on World Malaria Day 2009

During its match against Seville on April 22nd, FC Barcelona raised awareness for the fight against malaria with “More Than A Club” t-shirts and malaria messaging for a whole stadium filled with supporters.

Fox Takes on Malaria

Inspired by FC Barcelona, Fox Soccer Channel (FSC) and Fox Sports en Español (FSE) launched an awareness and fundraising campaign titled "Every Goal Saves a Life / Cada Gol Salva una Vida". For every goal scored this season on either network, FSC and FSE will generously donate a life-saving mosquito net to Malaria No More.
