MALARIA NO MORE ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD MEMBERS

YOUSSOU N’DOUR, GABRIELLE FITZGERALD JOIN ORGANIZATION LEADERSHIP

New York, NEW YORK - Malaria No More announced today two new members of its Board of Directors, musician and malaria activist Youssou N'Dour and Gabrielle Fitzgerald of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, as the organization continues to work with leaders in the global fight against malaria to end deaths as quickly as possible.

The Board of Directors at Malaria No More is comprised of leaders in business, advocacy and global development, working together to focus their disparate areas of expertise on the goal of ending malaria deaths. Board members are actively involved in raising awareness about the disease, engaging the global community and maximizing every opportunity to have a positive impact on the malaria crisis.

"Malaria No More is tirelessly committed to ending malaria deaths," said Malaria No More CEO Scott Case. "We are proud to have Youssou and Gabrielle join our team of dedicated individuals working toward this goal. Each of them brings a unique perspective and significant expertise that will be invaluable to our organization."

Youssou N'Dour is one of the world's biggest celebrities, a musician with unparalleled reach not only in his home country of Senegal but throughout the African continent and across the globe. His work on behalf of malaria control, specifically through his "Africa Live: The Roll Back Malaria Concert" in Dakar in 2005, has helped to shine a spotlight on the malaria crisis in Africa and urge action both at home and abroad. A BBC documentary of this concert has since been viewed by more than one billion people around the world. N'Dour's commitment to raising awareness about malaria throughout the world makes him one of the malaria community's best advocates on the global stage. N'Dour is also a Goodwill Ambassador to the Roll Back Malaria Partnership and a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. He established the Fondation Youssou N'Dour in 2000 to channel his music toward portraying a new image of Africa and give hope to a new generation of African youth.

Gabrielle Fitzgerald is a senior program officer at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, responsible for the foundation's global health issue advocacy portfolio. The Gates Foundation has funded over $860 million in programs for malaria control efforts, research and development since its founding in 1994. It is a leader in the effort to find a malaria vaccine, announcing on September 25th, 2008 a $168.7 million donation to the PATH Malaria Vaccine Initiative to support research on a new generation of malaria vaccines.

Malaria No More was established in December 2006 by Peter Chernin and Ray Chambers, who is now United Nations Special Envoy for Malaria and Malaria No More Board member in absentia. Vice Chairmen of the Board are Scott Case, Malaria No More CEO, and John Bridgeland, President and CEO of Civic Enterprises, LLC.
