New York, NEW YORK - The Backyardigans, Nickelodeon's popular musical-adventure series, is hosting a special pre-performance event to show how parents and kids can help families across the globe fight malaria. For the November 1st premiere of The Backyardigans Live!: Tale of the Mighty Knights! at the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE, Nickelodeon and Broadway Across America are hosting a pre-show party to benefit Malaria No More, a non-profit organization that provides mosquito nets to protect kids in Africa from malaria.
Malaria No More charity tickets to the LA premiere on November 1st include preferred seating at the stage show and a private pre-show party complete with catered breakfast, Nickelodeon gift bags, fun kid's activities and an exclusive chance to meet The Backyardigans!
Malaria is a devastating disease, killing a child in Africa every 45 seconds—most of them under five years old. But it doesn't have to be this way. A simple $10 mosquito net can protect two or three children from the deadly bite of a malarial mosquito. Proceeds from the LA premiere's exclusive event will purchase nets to keep children safe from malaria.
"No parent should suffer the pain of losing a child to something as absurd as a mosquito bite, but in Africa it is a regular occurrence," said Scott Case, CEO of Malaria No More. "Luckily, with support from generous families and partners like Nickelodeon and Broadway Across America, we can help these parents protect their children and make malaria no more in our lifetime."
Malaria No More charity tickets are $100 each and cover the cost of the stage show and the pre-show event. All proceeds go directly to Malaria No More. To purchase tickets, go to www.MalariaNoMore.org/backyardigans. Give your kids the treat of a lifetime while giving kids in Africa the gift of life.

The Backyardigans Live! Tale of the Mighty Knights, based on the primetime Nickelodeon special that premiered Jan. 14, 2008, follows Nickelodeon's backyard friends, Uniqua and Tyrone, as they become Knights and embark on a quest to protect King Pablo's unpredictable egg. Along the way, Grabbing Goblin Austin and Flighty Fairy Tasha join the medieval mayhem as the runaway egg hatches feet and makes an unexpected dash all the way up to Dragon Mountain. The Backyardigans will need the audience's help to face a mighty dragon and return the egg to the king. The Backyardigans Live! will have the entire family singing, dancing and laughing along to songs of courage, friendship and the power of imagination.
