What We Do

Developing Malaria Control Capacity with AMP
Distributing nets to thousands of families requires tremendous planning and manpower. To that end, Malaria No More has partnered with the Alliance for Malaria Prevention (AMP), a coalition of more than 40 international organizations, to equip country health organizers with the best knowledge and skills to manage successful distribution campaigns.

In the last few years, public and private funding have made it possible to secure funding for  tens of millions of long lasting insecticide treated nets (LLINs) to be delivered to Africa. This scale-up of deliveries has posed challenges to health workers and managers.

Managers who once supervised the distribution of thousands of mosquito nets over the course of a year are now distributing millions of nets—often in the space of a few weeks. There are limited resources available to equip countries with the knowledge, specialized skills and management capacity needed to deploy these resources effectively.

Malaria No More has partnered with the Alliance for Malaria Prevention (AMP), a coalition of more than 40 international organizations, to equip country health organizers with the best knowledge and skills to manage successful distribution campaigns.

AMP’s assistance and support includes training workshops, planning guides and technical assistance in preparation for net distributions. The partnership and support has helped countries share best practices and strengthen the continent-wide effort.

AMP’s implementation support includes: campaign budgeting, LLIN tendering, campaign planning, campaign management, distribution logistics, communications and monitoring and evaluation.
