Malaria No More joined the U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative and implementation partner AFFORD for the distribution of 590,621 long lasting insecticide treated nets to 27 districts across Uganda. This distribution supported Uganda’s work toward the country’s ongoing efforts to reach a goal of more than 90% coverage for pregnant women and children. This campaign aimed to double national household LLIN ownership from 25% to 50%.
Results
Malaria Consortium conducted a net retention survey in November and December 2007 in Jinja, one of the 27 districts that received nets as part of this distribution. The survey revealed a net coverage rate of 98.11%, and an overall net use rate of 90.29%.
