Nightwatch Kenya

Launched in 2014, nightly reminders from some of the country’s most popular icons from music, sports and comedy are broadcasting across Kenyan airwaves. These media spots encourage healthy behavior around malaria prevention and treatment, and remind people to sleep under their mosquito nets every night. The commitment of these celebrities springs from their experience living in a country where more than three-quarters of people are at risk of malaria, as well as their ability to change that by using their celebrity status to raise awareness. Thanks to their dedication along with special support from the national government and partners such as Kimberly-Clark, maker of HUGGIES® diapers; and K24, Kenya’s fastest growing news station; life-saving messages from these famous celebrities are broadcast every night across Kenya, reminding people to sleep under a mosquito net.
