Malaria No More joins the Seattle Global Health Community and Seattle Foundation’s GiveBig! campaign

By Mark Ruffo

On May 3rd, Malaria No More is joining the Seattle Foundation’s GiveBIG campaign, Seattle’s annual, one-day, online charitable giving event. When you make a donation online through the GiveBIG portal, Seattle Foundation ‘stretches’ your gift from their stretch pool, growing your gift through a prorated match. Help us to eradicate malaria by making a gift today.

This marks the first opportunity for Malaria No More to participate in the GiveBig campaign since opening our new office in Seattle last fall. While this isn’t our first introduction to the Seattle community, we can publically, and proudly, call Seattle home.

As a non-profit working to solve the global problem of malaria, we have staff across the country and all around the world. We are a very distributed group, working virtually across our teams and with our global partners on a daily basis. But it makes sense for us to have our home base in Seattle.  Not only is Seattle a world leader in global health, but Seattle has a remarkable collection of institutions working to eradicate malaria.  There are teams in Seattle leading basic science research, running clinical trials and developing new data tools to track the disease.  We have people building business plans to finance the eradication of malaria and others are mobilizing the grassroots organizations and volunteer groups that are necessary to keep the fight moving forward.  This tremendous collection of partners has turned Seattle into a powerhouse in the fight against malaria, and it made perfect sense to join this community. Thank you for the warm welcome.
