Position Overview
Malaria No More is seeking a strategic fundraising professional to serve as a part-time Major Gifts consultant for Malaria No More’s upcoming 20th Anniversary Campaign. This highly creative and dynamic individual will engage with internal and external stakeholders and develop and implement a fundraising strategy to celebrate Malaria No More’s 20th anniversary. This role will provide strategic guidance on unrestricted fundraising and donor engagement activities related to the 20th Anniversary Campaign, play a central role in engaging potential donors, and work in coordination with staff to develop content. Malaria No More is flexible to pay hourly, project based, or on deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Working with internal collaborators, refine and implement strategy to celebrate MNM’s 20th anniversary across diverse donor audiences including Annual Fund donors, Board members, HNWIs, and corporate partners.
- Lead series of “Board Salons” to identify and engage prospective new Major donors.
- Develop and implement individual cultivation and solicitation strategies for priority donors within the existing donor database, in coordination with Strategic Development team.
- Build and maintain meaningful relationships with major donors and prospective donors.
- Identify new prospects for giving, using personal network, existing MNM network, wealth screening tools, and additional research.
- Support and strategically deploy the CEO and leadership team to cultivate, solicit, and steward HNWIs, major donors, and corporate donors.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of prospect and donor interactions and stewardship activities in the development database.
- Working with Communications team and Graphic Designer, draft and edit external fundraising materials as needed.
- Support event planning, based on overall strategy needs.
Potential Deliverables
- 20th Anniversary Campaign strategy, including annual fund donors, HNWI, and corporate partners.
- Planning and execution for small high-level fundraising events (Board Salons)
- Pending strategy:
- HNWI / Major Donor engagement and new prospect cultivation
- Corporate engagement and new prospect cultivation
- 20th anniversary fundraising event planning and execution
- Annual Fund donor outreach campaign
Competencies
- Minimum 8-10 years of directly related philanthropy experience, with a record of non-profit fundraising success including the demonstrated ability to create fundraising plans, set and meet goals, and solicit and close major gifts from individuals and/or corporates and foundations.
- Excellent and persuasive writing and editing abilities.
- Motivated, creative, and organized self-starter with attention to detail.
- Comprehensive major gift cultivation and solicitation skills and experience, including short and long-term planning and evaluation, philanthropy ethics, cultivation practices, and development and maintenance of systems and processes.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong project management skills.
- Creative, innovative thinker with a problem-solving mindset.
- Strong grasp of malaria and global health.
- Passion for nonprofit fundraising and mission-driven work.
Location & Work Environment
- Location: Washington DC or New York City (Remote)
- Employment Type: Part-Time or Contractor
- Compensation: $ 60-85 /hr Willing to consider deliverables-based or hourly
