About Kaushik Sarkar

Dr. Kaushik Sarkar is the founding member and leader of IMACS which leverages AI-powered predictive technologies to transform global health responses to environmental shifts. Since 2017,  he has played a key role incubating and scaling strategic initiatives, engineering innovative AI solutions to decode infectious disease dynamics, and advance precision public health. With over two decades of experience, Kaushik has collaborated with top universities, research institutions, government, and non-profits across India, the UK, and  more than 15 countries driving innovations in health systems, maternal and child health, nutrition, non-communicable diseases, and vaccines. He has authored over 30 journal articles and books in leading international publications. A physician-scientist by training, Kaushik specializes in  computational biomedicine, epidemiology, AI, and business management. He holds an MBBS and multiple advanced degrees, including postgraduate diplomas in AI strategy and machine learning, master’s degrees in data science, AI, and business analytics (Executive MBA), and an MD in Community Medicine with a university gold medal. Currently, he is pursuing a second doctorate focused on applying emerging neural network architectures to health and environmental challenges. His work has earned him numerous honors, including the Indian Council of Medical Research Studentship (STS), IAPSM’s Vijay Narayan Research Award, Digital Transformation Leader, 40 Under 40, and the Outstanding Leadership Award.
