About Vishni Samaraweera
Vishni Samaraweera is a global health advocate with experience in policy, advocacy, and research. She has interned for the Biden-Harris Administration’s White House Gender Policy Council and on Capitol Hill, engaging policymakers on gender and health equity. Her graduate thesis research in Chiapas, Mexico, analyzed the relationship between socioeconomic factors and cervical cancer mortality in Indigenous communities, combining statistical analysis with interviews of reproductive health workers. Vishni is passionate about advocating for global health and advancing efforts to achieve universal health coverage for all. She holds a Master’s in Global Health from Georgetown University and a Bachelor’s in Public Health from Brandeis University.
