A GLOBAL HEALTH SUCCESS STORY

Fighting to end malaria is one of the best public health investments the world has made. Since 2000, efforts to prevent and control this preventable disease have led to remarkable results, driving malaria deaths down by 62% and preventing hundreds of millions of cases. Reducing malaria also has positive economic impacts; lifting families and communities out of poverty and adding growth to a country’s economy.

We are on the pathway to achieving malaria eradication within a generation.

Half the world’s nations are now malaria-free, and we are well on the path to achieving what we once thought inconceivable: ending the malaria epidemic and eradicating the disease for good.

Reducing Poverty + Inequality

Your_Impact_Reduce_Poverty_480x250
  • Sustained investment in malaria unlocks human capital to generate growth
  • A 10% reduction in malaria has been associated with a .3% rise in annual GDP
  • Reducing malaria protects household income from lost earnings and the cost of seeking care
  • Breaking the vicious cycle of malaria can lead to healthier, more productive societies, because the disease is both a major cause and consequence of global poverty and resource inequity.
